The winery in the municipality of Heppenheim is located in the German wine-growing region of Hessische Bergstrasse. It was founded in 1926 by Heinrich and Elisbaeth Freiberger and expanded by their two sons. Today it is run by Heinz senior and Heinz junior Freiberger, already the third generation. The vineyards cover 15.5 hectares of vineyards in the single vineyards of Eckweg, Guldenzoll, Maiberg, Schlossberg, Steinkopf and Stemmler in Heppenheim. Two thirds of the vineyards are planted with Riesling (7.6 ha) and Ruländer (3 ha), as well as Pinot Noir, Müller-Thurgau, Silvaner, Pinot Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Kerner, Chardonnay, Johanniter, Dornfelder and St. Laurent. Natural viticulture is practised. Some of the wines are matured traditionally in large wooden barrels and some in stainless steel tanks. Sparkling wines, semi-sparkling wines, wine brandies, yeast wine brandies, marc brandies and liqueurs are also produced.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
