The winery in the municipality of Heppenheim is located in the German wine growing area Hessische Bergstrasse
. It was founded in 1926 by Heinrich and Elisbaeth Freiberger and further developed by his two sons. Today it is managed in the third generation by Heinz sen. and Heinz jun. Freiberger. The vineyards cover 15.5 hectares of vineyards in Heppenheim's individual sites Eckweg, Guldenzoll, Maiberg, Schlossberg, Steinkopf
and Stemmler. Two thirds of them are planted with the varieties Riesling (7.6 ha) and Ruländer (3 ha), as well as Pinot Noir, Müller-Thurgau, Silvaner, Pinot Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Kerner, Chardonnay, Johanniter, Dornfelder and St. Laurent. Natural viticulture is practiced. The wines are partly aged traditionally in large wooden barrels and partly in stainless steel tanks. Sparkling wines, semi-sparkling wines, wine spirits, yeast wine spirits, marc spirits and liqueurs are also produced.
