The winery is located in the municipality of Theilheim (Maindreieck area) in the German wine-growing region of Franconia. Hermann Deppisch, the founder of the winery, was a field manager at the Bürgerspital and leased the first vineyards in 1989. After his training at the Bürgerspital and his studies in oenology, the winery is now run by his son Christian Deppisch on a part-time basis. A hedge farm is attached. The vineyards cover four hectares of vines in the single vineyard Altenberg (Hammelburg). They are planted with the white wine varieties Silvaner,Pinot Blanc, Riesling and Blauer Silvaner, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Frühburgunder, Domina, Regent and Blauer Portugieser. Since 2008, the vineyards have been cultivated according to the rules of biodynamic viticulture certified by DEMETER.
