The "Organic Winery H. & M. Hofer" is located in the municipality of Auersthal near in the south of the Lower Austrian wine-growing region . It is run by cellar master Hermann Hofer and his wife Maria. A is attached, where guests are offered meals in organic quality. Controlled organic farming has been practised on 45 hectares of arable land since 2001 The vineyards cover 20 hectares in the Freiberg, Gaissberg and (Bockfließ) vineyards, as well as Kirchlissen (Auersthal). They are 70% planted with the white wine varieties (the with over 50%), Pinot Bl anc, , and , and 30% with the red wine varieties (15%), ent, and some such as and .
