Gutturnio

DOC area for red wine in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna. The former subzone of the Colli Piacentini DOC area became independent in 2011. The zone includes the hilly area of Ziano Piacentino, as well as parts of Agazzano, Alseno, Borgonovo Val Tidone, Carpaneto Piacentino, Castell'Arquato, Castel San Giovanni, Gazzola, Gropparello, Lugagnano Val d 'Arda, Nibbiano, Pianello Val Tidone, Piozzano, Ponte dell'Olio, Rivergaro, San Giorgio Piacentino, Vernasca and Vigolzone, in the province of Piacenza. The Classico area is divided into three areas and includes the hilly area of the municipality of Ziano Piacentino and parts of the municipalities of Borgonovo Val Tidone, Carpaneto Piacentino, Castell'Arquato, Castel San Giovanni, Gropparello, Lugagnano Val d'Arda, Nibbiano, Vigolzone.

The red wine is made from Barbera (55-70%) and Bonarda = Croatina (30-45%). There are the versions Fermo, Frizzante, Superiore, Classico Superiore and Classico Riserva. If the grapes come from classified vineyards, Vigna can be indicated followed by the vineyard name.
