Gustopupica Crna

The red grape variety originates from the former Yugoslavia (Croatia). Synonyms are Gustopup, Gustopupa, Gustopupica and Gustopupka. The parentage is unknown. Nothing is known about possible relations to the red varieties Gustopupica Ninska or Zadarka Crna (Gustopupica Tvrda). The variety was mentioned in an ampelographic list published by Stjepan Bulić in 1925 as a variety of the island of Pag on the coast of northern Dalmatia. The vine yields balanced red wines. In 2016, however, no stock was reported (Kym Anderson statistics).
