The white grape variety originates from France. Synonyms include Abbondaza, Aubin, Augevin, Gros Guillaume, Gros Vert Bijeli, Gros Vert Blanc, Gros Vert Tardif, Guerbez, Late Syrian, Plant de Michel, Raisin de Michel, Raisin de Saint Jeannet, Rheinelbe, Saint Jeannet, Servan Blanc, Servant, Verdal, and Verdona. The ancestry (parentage) is unknown. It should not be confused with the varieties Aubin Blanc, Aubin Vert, or Servant due to partly identical synonyms and morphological and name similarities. The variety is mainly used as table grapes but also as wine grapes. In 2016, no stock was recorded (Statistics Kym Anderson). Images: Ursula Brühl, Doris Schneider, Julius Kühn-Institut (JKI).
