Gros Blanc

The white grape variety comes from France. It is one of the numerous descendants of Gouais Blanc (White Heunisch); the second parent is unknown. In 2016, no stock was recorded (statistics Kym Anderson).

The name (engl. "great white") is also a synonym for Gouais Blanc itself, as well as for Colombard (Gros Blanc Doux), Elbling, Graisse, Luglienga Bianca, Marocain Noir (Gros Blanc de Ribiers), Melon de Bourgogne, Pétoin, Romorantin (Gros Blanc de Villefranche) and Sacy. Besides Luglienga Bianca and Marocain Noir, these are also direct Gouais Blanc descendants.
