Gróf Degenfeld

The winery (full name is Gróf Degenfeld Szölöbirtok és Pincészet = Count Degenfeld Winery and Wine Cellar) in the Tokaj-Hegyalja region of Hungary was founded in 1995 as the successor to the former count's family estate. Formerly, the wine cellar belonged to the royal family and served as a chamber property. In the past, the cellar masters of the Tokaj region were trained here. The owners are the descendants of the Degenfeld-Lindner family living in Germany. The headquarters and the winery are located in the municipality of Tarcal, the 75 hectares of vineyards comprise 60% Furmint, 25% Hárslevelű and 5% Muscat Lunel (Muscat Blanc). Aszú grapes are also partially purchased from controlled vineyards. The winery is a member of the "Tokaj Renaissance" association and produces all Tokaj wine types.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
