The winery (full name is Gróf Degenfeld Szölöbirtok és Pincészet = Count Degenfeld Winery and Wine Cellar) in the Hungarian region of Tokaj-Hegyalja was founded in 1995 as a successor of the former count's family property. The wine cellar used to belong to the royal family and served as a chamber estate. In the past, the cellar masters of the Tokaj region were trained here. The owners are the descendants of the Degenfeld-Lindner family living in Germany. The head office and the winery are located in the Tarcal municipality. The 75 hectares of vineyards comprise 60% Furmint, 25% Hárslevelü and 5% Muscat Lunel. Partly, aszú grapes from controlled vineyards are also purchased. The winery is a member of the "Tokaj Renaissance" association and produces all the typical brands of Tokaj.
