The winery "Georg Mumelter - Griesbauerhof" is located in the municipality of Bolzano in Rentsch in the Italian wine-growing region of South Tyrol ( Trentino-South Ty rol region). The hereditary farm has been in the family since 1785. After the First World War until the 1970s, only St. Magdalener was produced, which was sold exclusively as open wine to Switzerland. Since 2000, it has been bottled exclusively in 0.75-liter bottles. The vineyards are located at 300 meters above sea level and cover 3.5 hectares, which are planted with Lagrein, Pinot Grigio, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Since 2005, a vineyard in Moritzing near Gries with 0.3 hectares of Lagrein has been leased. Finally, in 2008, the "Spitz" vineyard at the confluence of the Eisack and Etsch rivers was purchased, where Merlot is cultivated.
