The winery "Georg Mumelter - Griesbauerhof" is located in the municipality of Bolzano in Rentsch in the Italian wine-growing region of South Tyrol (Trentino-South Tyrol). The estate has been owned by the family since 1785. After the First World War until the 1970s, only St. Magdalener was produced, which was sold exclusively as open wine to Switzerland. Since 2000 the wine has been bottled exclusively in 0.75 litre bottles. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of 300 metres above sea level and cover 3.5 hectares, which are planted with Lagrein, Pinot Grigio, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Since 2005, a vineyard in Moritzing near Gries with 0.3 hectares of Lagrein has been on lease. Finally, in 2008, the "Spitz" vineyard at the confluence of the Eisack and Adige rivers was purchased, where Merlot is cultivated

Integrated Pest Management is practiced without the use of herbicides. The grass cuttings of the completely greened vineyards serve as fertiliser. If necessary, irrigation is carried out using a drip irrigation system. The quality criteria in the vineyard are intensive foliage work and strict yield regulation with only one grape per shoot for Lagrein, Merlot and Vernatsch, and halving the grapes for Pinot Grigio and Cabernet Sauvignon. The red wine grapes are destemmed. Fermentation takes place under controlled temperature using pure yeasts. After 10 to 15 days, the wine is drawn off and is placed either in large wooden barrels or in steel tanks where malolactic fermentation takes place. The wine is then stored or aged in large wooden barrels and in barriques. The wines are exported to Germany, Switzerland and the USA. The winery is a member of Tirolensis Ars Vini and of the Free Winegrowers South Tyrol.
