The winery is located in the municipality of Deutschkreutz in the Austrian wine-growing region of Mittelburgenland. The Reumann family has been growing wine near the Hungarian border for three generations. Today it is managed by Christian Reumann and his wife Birgit. The name is derived from the location directly on the Hungarian border and was chosen for reasons of differentiation from estates in the village with the same family name. The farm is equipped with the latest cellar technology and a spacious tasting room. The vineyards comprise 24 hectares of vineyards in the Hochbaum, Hölzl, Sandgrube and Steinriegel areas. 90% of them are planted with the red wine varieties Blaufränkisch (50% of the total area), Blauburgunder(Pinot Noir), Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the rest is planted with the white wine varieties Welschriesling, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".
