Greco Nero di Sibari

The red grape variety (also Greco Nero) comes from Italy. Despite the similarity in name, it must not be confused with the variety Greco Nero di Verbicaro; its originality was confirmed by a DNA analysis carried out in 2008. In the 2010 statistics of Kym Anderson, however, only one variety appears with the name Greco Nero. Under this name, a variety is used in the Italian region of Calabria in wines of the DOC area Terre di Cosenza.
