The white grape variety originates from Italy. Synonyms are Grechetto, Grechetto Bianco, Grechetto Spoletino, Greco, Greco Spoletino, Montanarino Bianco, Montanaro, Occhietto, Pistillo, Pizzinculko, Pocinculo, Pulce, Pulcinculo Bianco and Strozzavolpe. The "Greco" could possibly indicate a Greek origin.
