Grance Senesi

DOC area for red and white wines in the Italian region of Tuscany. The zone includes the municipalities of Asciano, Monteroni d'Arbia, Murlo and Rapolano Terme, and partly the municipality of Sovicille in the province of Siena. If the grapes come from classified vineyards, Vigna followed by the name of the vineyard can be indicated on the bottle label.

The Rosso (also known as Riserva) is made from Sangiovese (60%), as well as other permitted (max. 40%) grapes. The Bianco is produced from Trebbiano Toscano and/or Malvasia Bianca Lunga (60%), as well as other permitted (max. 40%). It is also available as Passito and Vendemmia tardiva. The pure wines must contain at least 85% of the respective variety. These are Cabernet Sauvignon, Canaiolo(Canaiolo Nero), Malvasia Bianca Lunga and Merlot.
