Grafting

Term for the "placement of a more valuable scion" (upper part or scion) on a rootstock (lower part or rootstock), whereby the two parts grow firmly together and form a new "grafted" vine. This process is therefore referred to as grafting. On a larger scale, this takes place in a vine nursery.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
