The winery is located in the municipality of Stratzing near the town of Krems in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Kremstal. The winery was bought by the great-grandfather of the current manager Maria Graf-Faltl in 1890 and has been passed down through the generations ever since. The Koststüberl dates back to the 16th century and is decorated with Renaissance rosettes. In the upper part of the cellar, the Gothic vault dates back to the 14th-15th century. The vineyards cover six hectares of vineyards, most of which are located at Großlage Kremser Sandgrube, and are planted with the varieties Grüner Veltliner, Rivaner, Malvasier (Frühroter Veltliner), Chardonnay and Blauer Zweigelt. The vineyards are cultivated according to the KIP (Controlled Integrated Production) guidelines. The fermentation and ageing of the wines takes place in stainless steel tanks with the aim of producing fruity and varietal-typical wines. Special red wines mature in barriques. Fruit brandies (apricot, plum, pear, elderberry), grape brandies partly matured in barriques, and naturally cloudy juices (apple-carrot, grape) are also produced.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
