The white grape variety is a new breed between unknown varieties of the species Vitis vinifera. The crossing was done in South Africa by Professor Christiaan Johannes Orffer (1926-2008) at the University of Stellenbosch. It is cultivated in South Africa; in 2016 only 0.1 hectares of vineyard area was designated (Kym Anderson).
In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".
