Gold Riesling

There are two grape varieties with this name:

France - Riesling x Précoce de Malingre

The white grape variety is a new variety between Riesling x Précoce de Malingre. According to a DNA analysis conducted in 2013, the grape listed in the breeding list as Muscat Précoce de Saumur turned out to be incorrect. However, the parent variety Précoce de Malingre was not confirmed in a subsequent analysis in 2021 (parentage unknown). Synonyms include Franzosentraube, Gelbriesling, Goldmuskat, Muscat de Colmar; Riesling Doré, Risling Khativ, and Risling Zolotistyi. The crossing took place in 1893 in Colmar/Alsace by the breeder Christian Oberlin Christian (1831-1915).
