The winery is located in the heart of Randersacker (Maindreieck area) in the German wine-growing region of Franconia. The traditional family has been growing grapes for over 400 years. Today, the business is run by Hubert Göbel and his son Martin. The vineyards cover 8.5 hectares of vines in the single vineyards Marsberg, Pfülben, Sonnenstuhl and Teufelskeller (all in Randersacker). They are planted with the white wine varieties Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Riesling, Traminer, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Rieslaner, Albalonga and Scheurebe, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Dorio, Cabernet Dorsa and Domina. Quality criteria are yield-reducing measures such as short pruning and thinning out of the grapes, as well as selective hand harvesting. During vinification, particular emphasis is placed on varietal typicity. The white wines are mainly matured in stainless steel, the red wines in large wooden barrels and in barrique. The wines are predominantly Franconian dry, only a tenth of them medium sweet. A particular speciality are the noble sweet dessert wines such as Trockenbeerenauslese and Eiswein. The product range also includes Franconian brandies from their own distillery.

The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
