Glatzer Walter

The winery is located in Göttlesbrunn in the Carnuntum wine-growing region of Lower Austria. It was founded in 1987 with 4.5 hectares of vines. The business is run by Walter Glatzer, who is one of the co-founders of the so-called "red wine miracle" in the region. He is supported by his wife Doris, daughter Hanna and son Mathias.

Vineyards & grape varieties

The vineyards cover 54 hectares of vines in the Altenberg, Bernreiser, Eisenbach, Goldberg, Hagelsberg, Haidacker, Kräften, Schüttenberg and Rosenberg vineyards. More than 50% of the vineyards are owned by the winery, the rest come from long-standing contract winegrowers who work according to the winery's quality standards. They are 75% planted with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch,Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, St. Laurent and Merlot, and 25% with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Pinot Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc.
