German Barrique Forum

An association of winegrowers in Germany founded in 1991. The main goal is the care, development and perfection of the barrique maturation. At that time, this type of vinification was still highly controversial in Germany and in quality wine tests, such products were disqualified as table wines. Occasionally, joint image events and wine presentations are organised. Among the member companies are well-known German red wine producers. These include Adelmann, Bergdolt St. Lamprecht, Breuer Georg, Dautel, Dr. Heger, Fürst zu Hohenlohe-Oehringen, Haidle Karl, Huber Bernhard, Kesseler, Knipser, Rappenhof, Siegrist, Sonnenhof, Weinsberg and Wirsching Heinrich. In the Palatinate, there is a winegrowers' association called Forum Pfalz (formerly Barrique Forum Pfalz) with similar objectives, but there is no association with it. Another German association of barrique producers is HADES.
