A winegrowers' association founded in Germany in 1991. Its main objective is the cultivation, development and perfection of barrique ageing. At that time, this type of wine ageing was still highly controversial in Germany and such products were disqualified or downgraded in quality wine tests. Occasionally, joint image events and wine presentations were organised.
The member companies included well-known German red wine producers. These included Adelmann, Bergdolt St. Lamprecht, Breuer Georg, Dautel, Dr Heger, Fürst zu Hohenlohe-Oehringen, Haidle Karl, Huber Bernhard, Kesseler, Knipser, Rappenhof, Siegrist, Sonnenhof, Weinsberg and Wirsching Heinrich. However, the association is no longer active.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
