Spanish and Portuguese term (also Vino Generoso or Vinho Generoso) for a fortified liqueur wine (literally translated this means "generous" in German). In contrast to a Licoroso (always sweet) it can be dry or sweet. They are also used in the special wine types Mistela and Rancio. In Italian, generoso means "generous" in connection with a wine-tasting.
