The winery is located in the municipality of Grünstadt-Sausenheim (Mittelhaardt-Deutsche Weinstraße area) in the German wine-growing region of Pfalz. The family has been involved in winegrowing for centuries. It was created in 1993 by dividing the parental farm. The farm is run by Rosmarie and Karl-Heinz Gaul and their two daughters. The vineyards cover 17 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Schloss and St. Stephan (Asselheim), Schlossberg (Neuleiningen), as well as Honigsack, Hütt and Klostergarten (Sausenheim). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling (50%), Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Huxelrebe, Müller-Thurgau, Gewürztraminer and Auxerrois, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Portugieser, St. Laurent, Dornfelder, Schwarzriesling and Cabernet Cubin. Natural, environmentally friendly viticulture is consistently practised. The quality criteria in the vineyards are reduced yields and selective harvesting. In the cellar, the motto is "as little as possible and as much as necessary". The top wines are vinified according to the specific vineyard. The red wines are matured in traditional oak barrels as well as in barriques.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
