The white grape variety is an interspecific new variety between Solaris x Muscat Bleu. Synonyms or breeding numbers are FR 515-91, Freiburg 515-91 and Garant. The hybrid was crossed in 1991 at the State Viticultural Institute Freiburg (Baden-Württemberg) by Norbert Becker (1937-2012). The same parents also produced Galante and Osella. The early-ripening vine is resistant to frost and both types of mildew. It is mainly used as table grape. No stocks were reported in 2016 (statistics Kym Anderson).
The Wine lexicon helps me to keep up to date and refresh my knowledge. Thank you for this Lexicon that will never end in terms of topicality! That's what makes it so exciting to come back often.
