The white grape variety originates from Romania. It is a somatic mutation with light yellow berries of the white variety Galbenă de Odobești. Whether there is a genetic link to the Greek variety Kakotrygis (with synonym Galbenâ Mâruntâ) is not known. In 2016, no stock was reported under the name Galbenâ Mâruntâ (Kym Anderson).
