The Gál Tibor winery is located in the north of Hungary, in the baroque city centre of Eger. It was founded in 1993 by winemaker Tibor Gál (1958-2005). In addition to building up the winery in Eger, he achieved great fame in Tuscany, where he ran the famous Ornellaia winery for a decade. He also received great recognition for his work in the Italian regions of Friuli and Piedmont as well as in South Africa. Tibor Gál was therefore called the "flying Hungarian wine wizard". He died in a car accident in February 2005. Since 2005, the winery has been run by his son Tibor Gál Jr. and his family. The focus of their work is an Egri Bikavér Cuvée (Eger Bull's Blood) of a new style and a classification of the sites in the vineyards of the Eger area...
