The traditional winery is located in the municipality of Verrenberg, a suburb of Öhringen (Württembergisch Unterland) in the German wine-growing region of . The princes of Hohenlohe have owned vineyards here since 1360. The vineyard as well as the Grosse Lage is owned by Prince Kraft zu Hohenlohe-Oehringen. Joachim Brand is responsible as administrator and cellar master. The vineyards cover more than 18 hectares of vineyards, which are mainly planted with the white wine varieties ,, and , as well as the red wine varieties Lemberger (),, Pinot, , and . Since the 2008 vintage, the has been cultivated in accordance with the guidelines of . Only are produced.
