The traditional winery is located in the municipality of Verrenberg, a suburb of Öhringen (Württembergisch Unterland) in the German wine-growing region of Württemberg. The winery was founded in 1253, making it one of the oldest wineries in Germany and Europe. It has been family-owned for 27 generations. A new, modern winery was built in 2008. The associated restaurant "Wiesenkelter" is run by a tenant. The business is owned by Prince Kraft zu Hohenlohe-Oehringen. Carl-Julius Cromme has been the operations manager since 2023 and Dominik Weisser is the cellar master.

Vineyards & grape varieties

The vineyards cover 26 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Goldberg and the solely owned Verrenberg (Verrenberg), as well as selected plots in the municipalities of Bretzfeld-Harsberg and Pfedelbach-Untersteinbach. They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as the red wine varieties Lemberger, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Zweigelt.
