The winery (Vulgoname "Koasasteffl") is located in the municipality of Deutsch-Haseldorf, Großgemeinde Klöch in the Austrian wine-growing region Vulkanland Steiermark. It has been managed by Fritz Frühwirth sen. since 1970. His son Fritz jun. graduated from the Höhere Bundeslehr- und Versuchsanstalt and practised especially because of the Traminer expansion in the French Alsace. He is responsible for the cellar management. Attached is a "Buschenschank". The vineyards cover 11 hectares in the areas Hochwarth, Klinzel, Kratzer, Rosenberg, Sunnleitn and Zepfer. They are planted to 80% with the white wine varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Scheurebe, Welschriesling, Pinot Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Morillon and Rivaner, and to 20% with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Shiraz and Blaufränkisch. For new plantings, a high vine density of 4,000 to 5,000 vines per hectare is emphasized. The resulting stress on the vines causes the roots to drift deeper into the subsoil, resulting in a lower yield with small, thick-skinned berries.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
