DOC area (also Isonzo del Friuli) for a wide range of red, rosé and white wines in the Italian region of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The zone crossed by the river Isonzo, which gives its name to the region, extends to the Slovenian border. It completely covers the municipalities of Gradisca d'Isonzo, Mariano del Friuli, Medea, Moraro, Romans d'Isonzo, San Pier d'Isonzo, Turriaco, Villesse e parte di Capriva del Friuli, Cormons, Farra d'Isonzo, Fogliano di Redipuglia, Gorizia, Monfalcone, Mossa, Ronchi dei Legionari, Sagrado, San Canzian d'Isonzo, San Lorenzo Isontino, Savogna d'Isonzo and Staranzano in the province of Gorizia (Gorizia).

The pure wines are made from 100% of the respective variety. The white wines are Chardonnay, Friulano (Tai = Sauvignonasse), Malvasia Istriana(Malvazija Istarska), Moscato Giallo(Muscat Blanc), Pinot Bianco(Pinot Blanc), Pinot Grigio(Pinot Gris), Riesling Renano(Riesling), Riesling Italico(Welschriesling), Sauvignon(Sauvignon Blanc), Traminer Aromatico(Gewürztraminer) and Verduzzo Friulano. The red wines are Cabernet (Cabernet Franc and/or Cabernet Sauvignon), Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Franconia (Blaufränkisch), Merlot, Moscato Rosa, Pignolo, Pinot Nero(Pinot Noir), Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso and Schioppettino.
