Friedkovina Bijela

The white grape variety comes from Croatia, from the island Korčula. Synonyms are Brabkovica, Brakovina, Brafkovina, Brapkovica, Brapkovina, Bratkovina Blatska, Bravkovina, Crljenica, Maresco, Mesnac, Mesnac Tverdi, Popedre, Popetre, Posipica, Sljiva and Stradunska. The parentage (parenthood) is unknown. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2002, she is a parent of Pošip Bijeli. Nothing is known about a possible relationship with the red variety Bratkovina Crna. The medium to late-maturing vine produces fresh, acidic white wines, which are mostly blended with the Pošip Bijeli variety. It is cultivated in the region of Srednja/Juzna Dalmacija (Central and Southern Dalmatia), which includes the island Korčula In 2016, however, no stocks were recorded (statistics Kym Anderson).
