The white grape variety (also Geilweilerhof 31-15-100) is a new breeding between (Madeleine Angevine x Silvaner) x Weißer Riesling. This parentage was only determined by DNA analyses carried out in 2012. Because in the breeding list was erroneously "(Madeleine Angevine x Grüner Silvaner) F2“ (F2 means open-pollinated) had been stated. The cross was made in Germany by the breeders Peter Morio (1887-1960) and Bernhard Husfeld (1900-1970) at the Geilweilerhof in Siebeldingen-Pfalz. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
I have great respect for the scope and quality of the wein.plus encyclopaedia. It is a unique place to go for crisp, sound information on terms from the world of wine.
