Fisherman Christian

The winery is located in the municipality of Sooß in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region Thermenregion. It has been owned by the family since 1662 and is one of the red wine pioneers of the region. Today it is managed by Christian Fischer and his wife Veronika. Attached is a Heuriger. The vineyards cover 17 hectares of vines on the south-eastern slopes of the Sooßer Lindkogel. They are 85% planted with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Blauer Portugieser, Blauburgunder; Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the rest with the white wine varieties Weißburgunder, Riesling, Grüner Veltliner and Chardonnay. The premium wines include the red wine cuvées "Gradenthal" (Zweigelt, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, aged 15 months in 70% new barriques) and "Cabernet-Merlot" (aged 18 months in 100% new barriques), as well as Pinot Noir Reserve and Zweigelt Fasangarten. Around 100,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. Fine brandies are also produced. Together with the winery Karl Alphart (Traiskirchen) the winegrower sparkling wine "Pinot & Pinot brut de brut" is produced (Pinot Blanc from Alphart, Pinot Noir from Fischer). The winery is a member of the winegrowers' association Thermenwinzer.
