The winery is located in the municipality of Nimburg-Bottingen (Kaiserstuhl area) in the German wine-growing region of Baden. It was founded in 1978 by Otto and Mina Fischer to process their grapes themselves and to market the wines under their own name. In 1996, the estate was sold to Silvia and Joachim Heger for reasons of age. The cellar master is Manfred Zimmermann. The vineyards cover 17 hectares of vines in the single vineyard Nimburg-Bottinger Steingrube on shell limestone soils with a light loess overlay. They are planted with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Frühburgunder, Samtrot, St. Laur ent and Lemberger (Blaufränkisch), as well as the white wine varieties Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Auxerrois and Müller-Thurgau. The grapes for the white wines are processed with whole bunch pressing. The majority of the wines are matured in stainless steel tanks and some in barriques. The red wines are aged in large wooden bar rels and also in barriques after a classic maceration and BSA.
