Fire (intoxication)

In Austria or in the German-speaking world, a colloquial term (also "brandig sein") for drunkenness. This derives from the fact that excessive alcohol consumption or the large amount of liquid "puts out a fire", so to speak. In the same way, one suffers from a hangover afterwards, which manifests itself in the form of a headache or great thirst, which one has to "put out like a fire".
