The vineyard is situated in the commune of Léognan, within the Pessac-Léognan appellation in Graves (Bordeaux). This historic estate once belonged to the La Rochefoucauld family and later to the Fieuzal family, from whom its current name is derived. After the Second World War (1939–1945), the estate came into the possession of the Swedish Böke family in 1945. In 1974, it was acquired by Gérard Gribelin, before being sold in 2001 to the Irish entrepreneur Lochlann Quinn. Since then, extensive investments have been made in the vineyards, cellar facilities and winemaking. Today, the estate is run by the Quinn family.

Bordeaux Classification

In the 1953 Graves classification, the red wine was classified as a Cru Classé de Graves. As part of the expansion of the classification in 1959, the white wine was also recognised as a Cru Classé de Graves. Château de Fieuzal is thus one of the few estates in Graves whose red and white wines are classified.
