Ferdinand de Lesseps

The name was given to the builder of the Suez Canal Ferdinand Vicomte de Lesseps (1805-1894). The vine is resistant to both types of mildew; the berries have a foxton. It is used as a table grape and as an ornamental vine. The variety was a cross between the two new varieties Golden Queen and Primus.
