The winery is located in the municipality of Carmignano (province of Prato) in the Italian region of Tuscany. The total estate comprises 160 hectares of land at an altitude of 180 to 300 metres above sea level on the hills of the Montalbano countryside. Of these, 90 hectares of fruit chestnuts and 60 hectares of olives are cultivated according to the rules of biodynamic agriculture, and honey and figs are also produced. The farm has been owned by the family since 1920 and is managed by Maria Rossella Bencini. The vineyards cover eight hectares of vineyards, planted with Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Canaiolo Nero red wines, and Malvasia del Chianti(Malvasia Bianca Lunga) and Trebbiano Toscano white wines.
As honorary chairman of the Domäne Wachau, it is the easiest and quickest way for me to access the wein.plus encyclopaedia when I have questions. The certainty of receiving well-founded and up-to-date information here makes it an indispensable guide.
