Faßbender Wolfgang

The German wine and gastronomy journalist, author and wine critic Wolfgang Faßbender (*1968), after working for several years as a librarian at scientific libraries, devoted himself to journalism. Since the beginning of the 1990s he has written, co-authored or edited about 80 books and written about wine and gastronomy for magazines and newspapers. He was the author of books such as "The Wines of Alsace (Heyne), "Alsace (Mondo), "Cabernet Sauvignon" (Falcons), "The 400 best Swiss Wine Growers" (Orell-Füssli) or "The Wines of South Africa" (Falcons). He contributed several chapters to the standard work "Wine" (initially Könemann).

Wolfgang Fassbender has written numerous articles for Alles über Wein und Vinum, was a columnist for the Berliner Morgenpost and the Westdeutsche Zeitung, and today works for Weinwelt, the Swiss Wine Newspaper, marmite - Die Zeitschrift für Ess- und Treinkkultur, Salz & Pfeffer, NZZ and NZZ am Sonntag, Weinwirtschaft und Sommelier-Magazin, Welt und Welt am Sonntag and numerous other media. Together with friends and colleagues he runs his own small winery Gut Mannwerk on the Moselle.
