DOC zone for red wine in the Italian region of Sicily, named after the coastal lighthouse at Capo Peloro. The zone covers 15 hectares of vineyards in the municipality of Messina in the province of Messina. The wine is blended from the varieties Nerello Mascalese (45-60%), Nerello Cappuccio (15-30%), Nocera (5-10%), as well as Calabrese (Nero d'Avola) and/or Gaglioppo and/or Sangiovese (max. 15%).
I have great respect for the scope and quality of the wein.plus encyclopaedia. It is a unique place to go for crisp, sound information on terms from the world of wine.
