Famoso

The white grape variety originates from Italy. Synonyms are Bianca di Spinello, Rambela, Rambelina, Rabella, Rambola, Rambolina and Valdoppiese. The ancestry (parentage) is unknown. The first documentary mention under the name Famoso dates back to 1437. The vine produces aromatic white wines with a discreet muscat tone. It is cultivated in small quantities in the Emilia-Romagna region. In 2016, 6 hectares of vines were designated (Kym Anderson).
