Family-run winery in the municipality of Pesquera de Duero in the Castile-León region in the DO area of Ribera del Duero in northern Spain. It was acquired in 1972 by Alejandro Fernández, a skilled agricultural machinery technician who had made a great fortune inventing agricultural machinery for sugar beet, and Esperanza Rivera. The origin was a small winery made of natural stone from the 16th century, the current ancestral estate Tinto Pisquera. The property includes four wineries and the hotel "AF Pesquera". Along with Vega Sicilia, Alejandro Fernández is considered an important pioneer of the modern Ribera del Duero wine style. He is also known as the "Rey del Tempranillo" (King of Tempranillo). The three granddaughters of Esperanza Rivera and Alejandro Fernández took over in 2019. The vineyards cover a total of 220 hectares of vines. Tempranillo is kultiviert.
