Errázuriz

The Chilean winery "Viña Errazuriz S.A." was founded in 1870 by the aristocrat Don Maximiano Errázuriz. His terroir-conscious motto was "From the best land the best wine". Today it is run by his great-great-grandson Eduardo Chadwick. It is located north of the capital Santiago de Chile near Panquehue in the Aconcagua Valley. With a total of over 2,000 hectares of vineyards, it is one of the largest wineries in the world. The vineyards of the main estate cover 425 hectares. The top red wine "Don Maximiano Founder's Reserve", named after the founder, is blended from 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc from spectacular hillside vineyards and is one of the best-known and most expensive wines in Chile. Other premium wines are the "Chardonnay Wild Ferment", the "Sauvignon Blanc La Escultura" and the red wine cuvée "Vinedo Chadwick" (Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère), which was first produced in 1999.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
