Erbaluce Nero

The red grape variety comes from Italy. According to Wine Grapes, it is an independent variety that was formerly widespread in the province of Torino (Piedmont). The origin (parentage) is unknown. It is not a colour mutation of the white variety Erbaluce. Erbaluce Nero must not be confused with the Rastajola variety due to morphological similarities. In 2016, no stocks were recorded under the name Erbaluce Nero (Kym Anderson). Confusingly, in the VIVC catalogue Erbaluce Nero is given as a synonym for the variety Durasa.
