Single location in the municipality of Erbach in the German Rheingau wine growing region. The name goes back to the 13th century and reminds of the fountain "Markenburne" on the boundary between Erbach and Hattenheim. In 1810, a curious border dispute arose between the two communities, which is still visible today.
