Engelsberg

single vineyard in the municipality of Nackenheim ( Nierstein area) in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen, which is part of the so-called Rhine Front. It is located above the single vineyard Rothenberg, but despite similar soil conditions (Rotliegendes), it is not part of the Roter Hang. The main white wine varieties cultivated here are Riesling, Silvaner and Gewürztraminer. The Gabel Heinz, Dr Márbe-Sans and Reichsgraf von Ingelheim wineries, for example, have shares in the site.

There are other single vineyard sites called Engelsberg in the municipalities/cultivation areas of Endingen (Baden), Herxheim near Landau (Palatinate) and Offstein (Rheinhessen). There is also a Großlage of this name in the Franconia growing region.
