Engelsberg

single vineyard in the municipality of Nackenheim ( Nierstein area) in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen, which belongs to the so-called Rhine Front. It lies above the single vineyard Rothenberg, but despite similar soil conditions (Rotliegend), it does not belong to the Rote Hang. The white wine varieties Riesling, Silvaner and Gewürztraminer are cultivated here. The Gabel Heinz, Dr. Márbe-Sans and Reichsgraf von Ingelheim wineries, for example, have shares in the site. There are other single vineyard sites called Engelsberg in the municipalities/cultivation areas of Endingen (Baden), Herxheim bei Landau (Palatinate) and Offstein (Rheinhessen). In the growing region of Franconia, there is also a Großlage of this name.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
