DOC area for red, rosé and white wines in the Portuguese region of Beiras. The former IPR area was highly classified in 2006 and at the same time the IPR area Alcobaça was incorporated. Encostas d'Aire must not be confused with the former IPR area Encostas da Nave, which is now part of the DOC area Távora-Varosa. On the label, the two sub-area names Alcobaça and Ourém may be added. The main white wine varieties are Arinto, Fernão Pires, Tamarez and Vital, and the main red wine varieties are Baga, Periquita (Castelão Francês) and Tinta Amarela (Trincadeira Preta).
