DOCG zone (also Aleatico Passito dell'Elba) for a red sweet wine in the Italian region of Tuscany. The high classification took place in 2010. The zone includes all the municipalities of the island of Elba, which is part of the province of Livorno. It must be made from 100% pure Aleatico grapes. The grapes are dried on wooden racks for an average of two weeks. The actual alcohol content of the ruby red sweet wine must be at least 11.5%, the total alcohol content (including residual sugar) at least 19% vol. If the grapes come from classified vineyards, Vigna may be indicated followed by the vineyard name.
