The cooperative winery is located in the municipality of Klausen (Chiusa) in the Eisack Valley in the Italian wine-growing region of South Tyrol ( Trentino-South Tyrol region). It was founded in 1961 by 24 members at the time. The foundation stone was laid in the historic cellar of the Reinthalerhof. Today, the winery is run by Armin Gratl, with Hannes Munter as cellar master. In 1975, the company moved to its current location. The production building was then extended and rebuilt in 2005. The vineyards cover 150 hectares at an altitude of up to 1,000 metres above sea level and are cultivated by 135 members from 11 municipalities who are supported by advice and training. The white wine varieties Sylvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Grüner Veltliner, Gewürztraminer, Kerner, Ruländer (Pinot Gris), Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as the red wine varieties Vernatsch (Schiava Grossa), Pinot Noir, Lagrein and Zweigelt are cultivated and processed. The winery specialises in white wines.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
