Singular situation in the municipality Jechtingen (area Kaiserstuhl) in the German cultivation area Baden. The vineyards, which are mainly south-south-west facing on the slope, as well as in the flatter area to the west, at an altitude of 180 to 260 metres above sea level with a slope gradient of 5 to 30%, cover 53 hectares of vineyard area. A wave in the course creates a slight trough situation. The soils consist of reddish coloured, weathered volcanic rock. Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) and Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris) are cultivated here. The Bercher, Helde and Winzergenossenschaft Jechtingen, for example, have a share in the site.
