Eger 1

The white grape variety is an open-pollinated seedling of Seyve-Villard 12-286. It contains genes from Vitis berlandieri, Vitis labrusca, Vitis lincecumii, Vitis rupestris, and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid originated in Hungary and was selected by the two breeders Jozsef Csizmazia and Laszlo Bereznai. It is resistant to fungal diseases. The variety was a crossing partner in the five new cultivars Goecseji Zamatos, Medina (1), Vertes Csillaga, and Zweigelt Stella. In 2016, no stocks were reported under the name Eger 1 (Statistics Kym Anderson).
