The winery is located north-east of Bolzano, at the entrance to the Isarco Valley, in the Italian wine-growing area of Alto Adige ( Trentino-Alto Adige region). It has been family-owned since 1982 and is managed by Urban Plattner. In 1996, they began to process and market the grapes themselves, and in 2005 they opened their own cellar.
The vineyards at 400 to 500 metres above sea level cover three hectares of vines. They are planted with the red wine varieties Vernatsch (main variety), Pinot Noir, Malvasier (Frühroter Veltliner), Merlot and Lagrein, as well as Sauvignon (Sauvignon Blanc). Organic viticulture is practised in accordance with Bioland guidelines and certified/controlled by ABCERT. By sowing various grasses and herbs, such as mallow, phacelia, several types of clover and other legumes, the aim is to maintain biodiversity in the vineyard and encourage beneficial insects. Through appropriate foliage care and selective harvesting, only healthy and ripe grapes are processed.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
